Quality Control

Quality Control - Cherie Noel Cute, fluffy nonsense. Great vacation reading in the hammock.
Mission: X - Kim Alan The mc has a truly shitty friend, and I'm not impressed by by the guy who sleeps with him under false pretenses did not impress me at all. Lying is not cool. Not a way to start a relationship of trust, and honesty.

The Foxhole Court (All for the Game)

The Foxhole Court - Nora Sakavic I'm not quite sure why I loved this as much as I did, but something about the mix of adventure, and the spirit of teamwork (I'm a sucker for sports manga) made this work for me. I liked the mix of characters, and their back stories. I had to drop everything and drive to town from where I was sequestered on vacation so I could get a wireless signal so I could buy the second one right away.

Closure

Closure - S.H. Allan Really well done. Powerful, and emotionally honest this story was really well developed. The characters were complex, and interesting. One of the better LHNB stories of the year.
Making It Happen - S.J. Eller Some perfect for summer vacation sweet fluffy hammock reading.

Love on a Wing and a Prayer

Love on a Wing and a Prayer - T.A. Webb A sweet romance without being too fluffy. A perfect vacation read.
Learning To Dance - Annette Gisby Poorly written, and developed. The "relationship" between the student and teacher did not impress me, and it felt like the teacher was taking advantage of the younger man. Not sexy or romantic in my opinion.
Tarnished Toys - Gabbo De La Parra An unusal story that just didn't work for me. I didn't like the multiple endings. It felt a bit like a cheap ploy to me.
The Song - Eric Alan Westfall An interesting, but odd story. I liked it, but would have liked a more interesting reveal at the end rather than the more conventional answer to the mystery. It was a new take on things, but I'm so sick of this creature it really has to blow me away for it to work for me. The story telling could have been a bit clearer in parts it was just a bit too jumbled in places.
Doctor's Puppy Love - Shayla Mist Cute and sweet, but it felt a little too much like a Scrubs fanfic in places.
Red - Belinda McBride Well done story. I loved the dark atmosphere, and now neither character felt like a victim. I'm really hoping to see more of this world, and these characters in the future. A refreshing take on shifters.
Tinman - Dani R.R. Hermit Nothing about this story worked for me at all.
An Angelic Meeting - Vicktor Alexander I wanted to like this story, but it didn't really work for me. Too sappy in places, and I'm not a big fan of either Angels, or destined mates. Just a bit too stale, and a bit too formulaic for me.

Capture & Surrender (Market Garden 5)

Capture & Surrender - L.A. Witt, Aleksandr Voinov review to come
Sonny's Salvation - Carol Lynne The plot was almost non-existent, and the story telling to simple and too obvious for me. The characters felt poorly drawn, and they lacked any real depth or personality. I never felt any of the chemistry they were supposed to have. The story felt flat and uninspired to me, and events just felt to rushed and unnatural for me. A very forced and awkward read.
Double Exposure - Sam Kadence Cute, but a bit too silly and too fluffy for me. Felt very much like a manga style set up, and it didn't work for me in this context.
