I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. Both Cory and Brett are such strong characters in their own right. I like that Brett is so committed to Cory's welfare, even though his idolization of Cory can be a bit wearing (it is understandable considering the way Brett grew up.) I like that Cory is far from a perfect little angel, and that they both help each other cope with their lack of family support and love. I wasn't wild about the way Brett's accent was written. It was a bit much to read, and a lighter touch with it might have had the same affect without going overboard. I liked that there was no instant love, and that Brett never once thought of taking advantage of Cory. A really nicely paced, slow building love story.
