I received this story as an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.I really loved this story. The setting, and details really grounded me in the time, and place, and brought so much life to the story. The characters are complex and well developed, and the author did a wonderful job making me invested in them, and in their plight. I loved watching the love story unfold. It seemed perfectly paced considering the situation they were in, and the stresses that they both were under. Seeing them learn to trust, and understand one another, and seeing the feelings grow, and deepen was one of my favorite parts. There was no insta love, and there was no denying the suffering that surrounded them. The ending fit the story perfectly, and I found myself chocked up more than once. Really poignant, and beautiful in its own way.
